Items on the Startup tab of MSCONFIG are not needed for the normal
functioning of the computer. You will have to figure out what each is.
Watch for help from others.

You don't necessarily have to delete anything, just prevent unnecessary program(s) from loading at startup. Post the list.

Following on from the above replies, do not use MSCONFIG to manage your startup items. MSCONFIG is intended only for troubleshooting purposes.

To disable or re-enable any startup item use Ccleaner: http://www.filehippo.com/download_c...

Ccleaner shows all your startup items in one complete list and is therefore by far the best and easiest utility for managing them.

There is no way to tell you which items can be disabled as everyone's PC has different software installed. Only you can decide, but if you "Google" each startup item to see what it does, that will help you make a decision.

A couple of things:
I have used CCleaner since when it was called Crap Cleaner. I don't see anywhere an option to enable-disenable startup items. I must not be looking in the right place..
Please direct me.

I had a problem that could only be cured with XP Repair. Experts helping me with the question that I posted on this forum (Insert disk in driive problem) have told me the problem was caused from using a registry cleaner. (the only one I have ever used is CCleane)
I'm confused What should I do?
Thank you very much for your help
