Every time I log on I get "wg111cfg MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience....."
How do I remove this application? WIll that wreck anything?

Thank you,Ian.

Try uninstalling smart wizard and replugging the adapter and installing only the drivers

ian.freney, not sure, may be mistaken, from what I can gather, it's likely spyware from a music sharing site. Dunno for sure. If I were you, think I'd rename so it couldn't be found and see if there're any adverse effects first. If there are, it's easily put back, otherwise, the ax.

Thanks! I don't think it's spyware, as Zone Alarm gives a clear bill-of-health, and this computer has never visited a music share site.
Bob, I'm not too computer savvy...can't find "SmartWizard" under Add/Remove programs...where is it?
Cheers

Thank you,Ian.

It's an application for your NETGEAR WG111 Smart Wizard-Wireless Assistance. If you do not use the utility (i.e. you use Microsoft's wireless configuration) you can disable it by deleting it from the startup folder

click the start button
programs
startup
right click WG111... and left click delete

also...
click the start button
run
type msconfig
click on the startup tab
look for WG111... and uncheck it
click apply

if you use the utility, then you may need to check netgear's website for an update or patch or as BigBob said, uninstall it from add/remove programs then only install the drivers from your netgear disk. Hope this helps.
