Comment: Things I did and still got WFP. - Clean Install(formatted, Standard, not quick) -Installed WinXP Sp1 -Scandisk and Defraged -Installed SP2 -Scandisk and Defraged -WFP Popped up -Did SFC /scannow, SFC /scanonce -Scandisked and Defraged -Looked at my processes, no Unknown processes/ programs in the background. -Looked thru registry, and msconfig to see if there's any programs that would run in the background. Nothing suspicious. -Did SFC /scannow and /scanonce. - And I have reached that point soooo low that you just want to pick your computer up and throw it on top of Empire State Building!!!... Any help would be greatly appreciated... I can disable it but, just don't want to risk it!!!... Help me Please :) Thank you... By the way, I did not mention about looking and searching thru google.com and found nothing that can fix my WFP problem...

Reply: (edit)I have installed and reinstalled SP2... Add/Removed it... The only time it doesn't happen is that, when I do a fresh install with XP sp1. But, when I add SP2, WFP appears..!!! I'm just at the end of the line as of now... hehhehhe, but, I"m not gonna give up!!!! With your help guys, this piece of $h!t will come back to life!!! and will help other people as well... And with that!, a big THANK YOU!!!..

Reply: (edit)If you now have a WinXP SP1 System and it is running without any Windows File Protection Errors, my suggestion is to Check in Add/Remove Programs the following windows Security Update: 811493 security update An older version presnt in XP-SP1 nad XP-SP2 had caused problems and M$ had released a 'Fixed 811493 security update and you may try to install that.
