Reply: (edit)Man with xp you never need anything like a boot disk! You are talking about a real operating system here. All you need is your xp cd. You can download a bunch of floppies but they are of no more use to you than the xp cd.

Reply: (edit)You need to copy ntldr,ntdetect, and bootini to a floppy. Explore my computer/tools/folder options/view.Select show hidden files and folders, and then uncheck hide protected operating system files. Otherwise you will not find them. Then simply do a search for them and send them to floppy. Go back to folder options and reset to default when done.

Reply: (edit)well this sounds very easy ones i tryed to install xp pro on my brothers pc and he refused to boot from cd-rom even when i reconfigured bios so i had to download (6)!booteble floppy's and after that he booted from cd-rom.

Reply: (edit)i thought u just right click on your floppy, select format, then under the options (i.e. quick format etc) select "startup disk". (not sure exactly as the comp. I am writing this on has ME.)
