Comment:

I'm new to anything wireless and was wondering how to get a WEP key.

I just got a laptop and several hot spots were showing up while I was in town and the secure ones would ask for a WEP/WPA key or something like that. I wasn't sure if it was a password to use their wireless connection or if it was something else. I thought it might be something else since a McDonald's hot spot would let me connect, but only to their webpage to enter a password.

try 'bigmac' :-)

IF a wireless network DOES require wep authentication, contact the provider.

Today's subliminal thought is: 'Calm down ... it's only ones and zeros.'
