I want to turn off the welcome screen. How do I do that without changing the power off screen ( the one with the 3 icons for turn off, restart, and cancel)? When I turn the welcome screen off the power off screen changes to the pull down menu style like in Windows 2000.

You can't. Turning off the Welcome Screen disables Fast User Switching and does indeed change the login interface to the classic view.

Don't bother trying to find him way up in the icy air.
