I am using DELL DIMENSION E310 and WIndows XP Media Center Edition (Service Pack 3).

I just clicked on "HIDE THE CONTENTS OF THIS DRIVE" in C:/Documents and Settings, now i tried to unhide those. But when i opened the C:/documents and settings, tools, folder options, view i am seeing the following in advanced settings:

Gue pikir2x lo itu:
Adik lo banyak
Babe lo galak
Gak Punya mobil
gue ada pacar baru
Gue kangen berat
Gue masih cinta lo
Gue pandang2x lo jelek
Jarang jajan
Kurnag taat ibadah
Lo bego
Lo gak romantis
Otak lo mesum
Pacar lo Banyak
Semua tentanag lo:
Akan gue ingat semua
Akan gue lupakan semua
Sok tau
Terlalu banyak nuntut

I tried the following two by check them

Akan gue ingat semua
Akan gue lupakan semua

but the content in "C:/Documents and Settings" is the same i couldn't see the another folder. And also it is showing that the FAVORITES as empty.

DESKTOP icon in the status bar also disapeared.

Please help me to restore this.

Thanks
sudhaa

sudhaa, Try a System Restore to the closest date prior to when the problem started. Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore.

Edited to add: Looks like your computer is infected with a virus. Check out the links below.

Sudhaa,

Click Start>Run then copy & paste or type in:

rstrui.exe

Click OK.

See if that opens System Restore.

Tufenuf,

When i typed that command at start>run>rstrui.exe a pop up is coming with the following message:

"Windows cannot find "rstrui.exe". Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click search."

Thanks

Have you updated your virus definitions and run a full virus scan? You could also go to Start>Search>All files and folders and type in:

rstrui.exe

Click Search

If you find that file place a copy in your C:\Windows\system32\Restore folder

Sudhaa,
The first link I posted in Response Number 1 has a fix for that Folder Option>View>Advanced option problem. Did you try it? If you try it make sure you use the one for Windows XP.
