When booting my laptop last night, it froze right before the login screen. It appears to boot normally, then when it gets to the light blue screen that normally says, "Windows XP" and has the icons and names of my user accounts, the screen only shows "Windows XP" and nothing else. It just sits there and I can't do anything. I've tried rebooting, resetting, and pulling the battery to no avail. When I reboot it doesn't give me the option to boot in safe mode, just starts up and freezes again at the "login" screen. So my questions are:
1) Any idea how to fix?
2) How could I recover my hard drive BEFORE wiping it clean with a new OS install?NOTE: Most recent system change was that I upgraded to NAV 2004 on Saturday, this happened Wednesday.
Thanks!!
