HI,
I have a computer that will NOT stay connected to the internet (wireless). It was working fine yesterday, now today it drops the connection every 5 to 10 minutes. There's 4 other computers that connect wirelessly, and they have NO problem getting on the internet.
The weird part is, when I restart the computer, all is fine for about 10 minutes. Then the a little bubble pops up and says "cannot connect to preferred wireless network." I repair the connection, and the wireless icon for XP shows a red X over it, and says "Not connected", but I get a valid IP and can get on the internet- until the next time the little bubble pops up saying "Unable to connect to preferred wireless network."
When I see that bubble, I go to look at the IP and it says "Media DIsconnected." The link light is also out on my wireless adapter. I then repair the connection, and I can get a valid IP, and get on the internet. 5 minutes later, it happens again.
I have tried making sure it is set up to automatically connect to the network at the office, and it is.
ANy suggestions???
