When I do a cold boot, my computer doesn't connect to the internet. If I go Start..restart it makes the connection every time. Any ideas?

It's an ethernet hub. BTW, this just started happening after I installed another HD complete with another xp o/s. It doesn't matter which o/s I come up on, I still have to do a restart after a cold boot.
so you have two harddrives both with windowsxp? and on startup you are asked to choose which o/s to load?
try unpluging one of the harddrives one at a time and see if that makes a difference, if one of them let you connect on a cold boot and the other doesnt then we can narrow down the problem a bit.

Well, you were on the right track with your response. I disconnected a drive but it didn't do anything. But I had recently installed a second burner so I disconnected that and bingo!
I reconnected that burner and disconnected my other one. The cold boot still worked.
When I connected them both, I was back to the same problem.
So it seems that my power supply is not delivering enough power for my system.
Once again I want to thank OTH and all the others that helped me solve this puzzling problem.
Now for another weird problem. This thread used to have about 22 responses. What happened to the other 19?
