When I scroll the mouse wheel of my Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 in Internet Explorer 6, it will jump to the previous web page I was viewing.
It does this no matter what settings I have in the mouse wheel properties. I can even have "vertical scrolling" turned off in the mouse control panel, and it will still do it.
It seems to do it near the very top of the wheel rotation. When I'm at the very top of a page, as soon as scroll one wheel notch down, I get the previous page. Or if I'm scrolling up TO the top of the page, just before it reaches the top, it will go to the previous page.
This is REALLY annoying. Anybody know a fix?

I'm surprised no one else is having this problem. I have this installed on the cleanest of clean XP Pro installations. Nothing else is installed but XP itself, and the latest hotfixes. That's it.
This is driving me bananas.

As long as I'm replying to myself :-), I should post that I fixed it!!
It was the Intellipoint 5.0 driver. AND the built-in XP driver is at fault, also. Both of them have the bug, apparently.
I reverted back to Intellipoint version 4.12, and voila, no more problems.
Also I neglected to mention that I have an IOGear KVM switch. The darn thing had become such a fixture in my setup, hidden out of the way, that I forgot about it. Well, it seems to play at least *some* part in the problem. I have no problem with the KVM and Intellipoint 4.12. But when I use the built-in XP SP1 mouse driver, or Intellipoint 5.0 driver, I get the scrolling problem when I'm hooked up to the KVM. If I get the KVM out of the picture and just hook the mouse up straight to the PC, the scrolling problem doesn't happen as often. It still happens sometimes, just not as often as when I'm using a KVM.
But anyway, now that I'm back on 4.12, I'm a happy camper.
