Comment:

IE has been developing a strange problem recently.

Whenever I type a URL into the address bar, and it's a page that doesn't exist. IE returns the usual "page cannot be found" error, but also, it changes the URL of whats in the address bar.

For example.

Http://www.fakeurl.com --> Http:///?%20www.fakeurl.com

Http://www.fakeurl123.com --> http:///?%20www.fakeurl123.com

It's really an annoying problem, especially when it comes to fixing minor typos in the address bar. How do I prevent IE from doing this?

I have run adaware right after updating just 2 hours ago.

It found some Claria malware thing I removed it, but the problem remains.

What registry entry/setting that handles IE's response to a page not found?
