Reply: (edit)One possible solution is to use xp's 'system file checker'(sfc) which will check for and replace any critical system files that may have become corrupted. click "start" then "run" type "sfc /scannow" and hit enter.(note: be sure to put a space after the "c" in "sfc". You will be asked to put your windows xp pro cd in your cd drive. If you have multiple cd/dvd drives you may have to browse to the correct drive letter (default drive for cd is "D" but it may be different ,i.e. E or F, if you have added another drive. It usually takes about 10 minutes. I also noticed that you have both symantec and grisoft avg antivirus running. I'm not sure if that would cause a problem but it might be something to check out. My personal experience is that symantec is buggy. I use AVG and have never had a problem plus it uses less resources and loads much faster that symantec. Good Luck Doug

Reply: (edit)Hi doug! I followed your advice, but I had bad luck! I copied the command in the Run box but on the screen appeared an error message that said s/t like: "Unable to open installation pack. Verify that the pack exists and access rights or contact the dealer to ensure that is valid". What can I do to get rid of it? Waiting for your help, my best greetings! Thanks again

Reply: (edit)I have exactly the same problem. When I look at my add/remove listing it only shows Adobe Acrobat, Alcohol 120, Office Pro 2003 with an excel icon (wierd), MSN Messenger, VLC player, winfldrs.exe, and Winpatrol. Winpatrol doesn't detect any changes, the remove button has dissapeared for every program. Whenever I install a program, the add/remove listing appears. I removed winfldrs following the instructions set up by Com-Ando, but that didn't help. That's all I can supply to the discussion, but if I come upon anything else I'll post.

Reply: (edit)I am having the EXACT same problem. A lot of my programs are unlisted. Only one program gives me the option to "Change/Remove". Removing winfldrs XP does nothing. I can't wait for a solution.
