I have an (older) Logitech Quickcam 5.2 & it just won't work. It used to work fine & dandy when i was running W98se but it's just not happening with XP. I would like to use it on an ICQ2003a (or) Windows messenger platform.
I’ve already downloaded the latest XP software for it from the official web site but all that happens upon install is that my PC just 'hangs' / takes about 20mins to boot up from software re-start & eventually freezes (all the while making strange noises & mysteriously 'working' in the background.
Could it be my Zone Alarm firewall messing around with the installation (should i disable the F-Wall while installing)???
Cams aren’t too pricey these days I know but besides buying a new one – what else can I do? I don’t believe that there’s much wrong with my old one.
All ideas appreciated.
Graham.

I used zone alarm before and it gave me nothing but trouble. I suggest uninstalling it and use the xp's built in firewall feature. zone alarm tends to block the installation procedure but won't tell you. I had the same problem installing internet programs until I uninstalled Zone Alarm.
Hope this helps.
