Hi,
I've looked over the entire web and still have not found this: I'm looking for a software that would stream full motion video (or almost full motion) in almost real-time over to a web page either through a Java Applet or something similar...
So far I have come across software which does almost full motion in almost real-time but its max is about 5-10 FPS that I can get it (its called 'YAWCam')
I dont understand why its so impossible to find something like this- wouldnt security firms want true motion and true real-time video footage of their facilities? (real-time could be even 1/2 to 1 second delay, but not more...)
If anyone has any ideas or knows of any programs like this I'd greatly appreciate it...
Thanks,
Larry

If you go here:
http://search.tucows.com/search?search=streaming+webcam&platform_id=7%2C1565%2C1584%2C1570%2C1571%2C1725&language_id=1&type=exactany&site_detail_id=653&ref=
You'll see a link called "Watcher for Webcam"
It gets a 5-cow rating, is very popular, and the price is very reasonable:

There's also a free program:

...which might measure up to your specificaions.

Thanks, I saw the first one but the problem is that you need a special viewer to use it on the other side... I need that it should use either an ActivX or a Java Applet (or something like that- basically that a regular person could open a browser and view it...)
The second link I just downloaded and its interesting but it doesnt seem to have video streaming only still pictures...
Thanks,
Larry

What experience did you have when you went to:
http://www.yawcam.com/
...and followed the link to their forum?
Did you get quality time? Or is everyone else just as confused as you are?
If the guy that wrote the software is just a college student, and doesn't support it, the deal is "use it at your own risk."

If no one has any other ideas, then maybe I'll try to work with YAWCam more and maybe post a question in the forum there... (it seems to be the best software that I found so far...)
Thanks,
Larry

My webcam came with this software Teveo Vidio Suite
You can broadcast live on the internet (it opens a port on your computer like a web server, and it fetches a html file from your computer that lets you see the webcam with java (if i remember correctly)). You can customize the html file, and rename it as you want. It's not bad, although my webcam and internet connection is slow, so I have to lower the image quality to get faster speeds).
That's the free version. You can upgrade to live events for broadcasting to alot more people I think.
Although I haven't been able to view the company's website, so they might be gone *shrugs*

Thanks I downloaded that software but even if its played locally it only goes up to about 3-10 frames per second which is not at all full-motion... Its very similar in it style to YAWCam...
Are you able to get full motion with it??
-Larry

Thanks- I actually have the Active Webcam software and have been experimenting with it- it has the aability to be slightly better than YAWCam. The other link to SnapFiles- I've been looking there in depth (actually that was probably the first place I went...) and have not been able to find something that can do the following: Full motion (or very close), real-time, web browser viewing without a special program on the receiving end, and lastly- not too expensive or no cost...
Each program has some of each advantage, but none that I saw had all of them...
Larry
