Webcam Basic Error

I recently bought a Webcam Basic cam and cannot get it to work. After installation I try to bring up Amcap and get this error. "Error: 80040275: Cannot add vidcap to filtergraph" By the little research I have done it's seems to be something with codecs or something of that sort and this error does not only come up with just this software and hardware, it also comes up with other imaging devices. If anyone has any information that may be helpful please let me know. Thanks
