To try and speed up my laptop a little I used autoruns and unchecked quite a few things. Speed has improved however when I try to enter a web page that requires a username and password such as internet banking it will not work for me. This happens on any browser. I am not sure what I need to reactivate to get this working again. Thanks for you help.

Try this first. control panel > internet options > security tab and reset the options to default settings.
If the bank or certain websites cannot install cookies on your computer then they will not allow you to log in.
you can override the cookie function for certain websites by opening IE > tools > internet options > privacy tab and select the sites button and then insert the URL of the site you wish to allow in the space and select allow button.
