web page shortcuts

Specs: Windows XP
I downloaded google chrome and then got rid of it. Now everytime I go to open one of my website programs it ask which program I want to open it with. i choose internet explorer and it work. I have also ticked at the bottom (always open with this program). However they all still keep asking me what program to open it with. I have even deleted the shortcuts and added them again, but the same thing happens. Please let me know how I fix this. And thanks in advance

There is a file association that has to be changed in explorer, folder options, file types. What is the file extension of the shortcut? At least I think that's what you have to do.

Rasta, Download the URL File Association Fix which is a ZIP file and save it to your hard drive then open it. Double click on the .reg file to merge it into the registry and answer yes to the import prompt.

I guess you didn't want to look for the file association yourself. You might have to if the program doesn't do it for you.
