Instead of using one of the many Shell Replacement Programs available to enhance
my desktop, i decided to make a web page reflecting my tastes in menus and sub-menus
and put it on my active desktop. No problems with links to real web site (.htm) but as a security measure IE6 refuse
to always open .exe files. It always ask what to do with that type of file. I know
it's risky to do otherwise but i don't want to have to answer OPEN each and every
time i click on one my menu items on my desktop. So i want to know, is it possible for IE to always accept by default to open .exe
Thank you for any help.

It isn't IE6's security doing that. It has worked that way ever since Active Desktop has been out.
go to www.nonags.com and look around under the desktop tools section. I saw a program in there the other day that let you put links to programs on your desktop without asking about opening them first.

Sorry Kurt, there is nothing there to suit my need.
Thanks anyway, but i'm not sure you undertand what is my problem.
It's like surfing a real web page, but it's locally on my desktop. Each link react exactly like if it was something linked to the real web. So the Windows XP integrated IE6 ask what to do with a file.
Take Care.
Zenno.
