I want to install a 2nd HD, WD 500 GB.
On XP pro It shows up on BIOS but XP sees it as 127 GB. MB is ASIS M2A-VM
My OS hd is a WD 160 GB but is patitioned as 127 & 31. I have no data on the 500.
Ideas......... ??

Your MBoard is not 48 bit LBA compliant. If you continue to use the 160 you will eventually end up with data corruption. Partitioning the drive doesn't keep it from getting corrupted.

You need to get a PCI based controller card. Additionally you also need at least SP1 installed on the WinXP installation. Look at the link below for more info on 48bit LBA. Pay special attention to #1 in the FAQs. Also provided a link to a PCI based controller card.
