watch tv using tv out problem

Kinda seems strange, but I have a freeview tv dongle, and watching tv on the monitor is fine. however I also have my Tv plugged into the s-video out of my nvidea card, and if I "drag" the tv window across to the tv (for obvious reasons), the window is blank. If I change the channel, the number still appears in the corner, but no picture at all until I drag it back to the monitor.
The same happens with my kareoke program "swift elite 3" using the lyrics window to tv being blank. I have tried the settings suggested about going to advanced display and unchecking wether windows or programs adjust screen settings but no joy. Anyone know how I can make my tv display the picture? Many thanks. Neil.

TV's have different resolutions/refresh rates, maybe you need to try a lower setting ??

hiya, yes I have tried all sorts of resolutions, still nothing. but its strange how the channel number appears no problem. I'll try more resolutions now, while waiting for anymore suggestions.

oh, to add a note.... watching any movie or dvd and dragging to the tv poses no problems whatsoever lol.

In your video cards properties, you need to turn off overlays.
