Hello,
Since day-before-yesterday, my whole life's changed!
My workstation (winxp w/ 3.2gz) decided not to work for me anymore and so i have been asking around for alternatives for salvaging my data.
One of the ideas that occured to me was running an ftp server on my "working" workstation and transfer all the "must-have" files from the non-working workstation using knoppix and built-in ftp web-browser called konqueror.
the problem is: the ServU is not starting up... is this because I have DSL?
I do have firewall... but i turned it off and it still won't start.
Anyone can suggest a better or simple ftp server that I can use to transfer small files??

hi,
you should just remove the hard/drive set it as a slave and put it in another computer and salavge the data that way.

Hello XpUser:
My IP is dynamickeltikgent:
my workstation that is not working is a Laptop and my working workstation (where i want to transfer all my needed files) is a PC.So I do not believe it would be possible to make laptop hardrive as a slave hd. or is it?
