i'll assume you are having trouble playing games on battle.net because of your firewall ...
battle.net uses the following ports for its games... so if you open the following ports then you'll be able to play games without taking down your firewall...if you can't open those ports (some cheap firewalls dont let you do much ), then i guess you'll have to decide whether online gaming or security is your priority...
