I had Samsung MasterWrite DVD RW bought 1 years + ago, now today, i cannot read any disc anymore. It sucks!! Warranty over.
I wish to buy a new DVD-RW drive, which brand would you recommend?

I consider burners to be a commodity item. I buy on pricepoint. However some brands seems to have more failures than others. If you want the best the would be Plextor, IMO. Read reviews on the current offerings. Liteon is good for a cheap drive. I am currently using one myself. I have had problems in the past with liteon though. I think it is a matter of the particular model as opposed to the brand.
Are you sure your drive is dead? Watch the POST screens at startup to verify the BIOS sees the drive correctly. Also in My Computer and Disk Management.
What happens when you insert a disk? CD and DVD media use a different laser. It would be unusual for both to burn out at the same time.

Thanks for remark.
I think it cannot read DVD, asking me to insert DVD even though i inserted. It does detect it on Bios and My Computer.
