Hi,

A wiseman told me once that you should install the applications on each OS'.

To run a 'Win98 only' application on XP, you can try 'right clicking' on the executable files and find 'win98 compatibility mode'... But I think it won't solve your problem anyway =( You still have to reinstall using the XP OS =)

hello
you can run some programs on a 98-m.e drive from xp by going to the programs folders on the 98-m.e drives and clicking on the link to start program in its program file. i,ve run a few like this.
they will some times create a registry key in xp when doing so. so if you look in the reg after and see keys for programs not instald in xp this might be where they will have come from.
have a nice day

Hi,

On some applications - like games - you may install them on '98 and then "run" them from XP - by locating the executables in the '98 folder...

But not in some 'very integrated to the OS' applications =) In this case, you have to make a separate installation...

That's why I recommend to try locating the executables and run it with 'compatibility mode'

btw about your friend, is he running 'office' too?

Regards, keep us posted =)
