wandering pointer

my pointer is very skittish and often wanders all over the screen by itself.

is this a symptom of an underlying problem??

Nah, just means you need to clean inside your mouse. Unless it's optical. If it is then maybe you should try reinstalling the drivers.

My mouse has had the aggravating habit of drifting off to the left ever since I installed XP. It didn't do that before. I have cleaned it a couple of times. It still does it. It's XP, and I don't know why, either.

My wireless mouse wanders off to the left of the the screen. It's an optical wireless mouse.. I have this problem with a corded mouse before this..

I think it's just an XP problem.. Or could even be cheap quality motherboards.

that's exactly what's happening with me.......an optical logitech mouse and it wanders to the left, but no probs before with w98.

I think it has to do (at least the optical ones) with being to sensitive. I have a Logitech Wireless mouse that wanders very slightly to the right. I am talking smaller than millimeters though. If your is more severe it may a poor mothrboard or cable for corded ones.

As for Xp mine does this ion Linux as well so I doubt it is the OS.
