Comment: I have a exclamation mark in my device manager for WAN Miniport (network monitor). I do not have any recovery cds or anything that came with my HP computers. HP's dont come with any cd's. There is no drivers cd. I would like to know how to get this device working properly. It says: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31). Well what drivers do I need to run this. I can't get this to work. I need some HELP!!! Please reply. Thanks.

Reply: (edit)Are you using a wide area network (WAN)? if not and your computer is running fine without this device (as it seems to be from what you are saying) then just remove it from the device manager. (right click my computer>properties>hardware>device manager button>select defective device>right click and select uninstall device). Reboot the machine and all should be fine - if the computer 'does' require this driver then it will detect that it is missing and start the add new hardware wizard, during this process it will ask you if you have the drivers already or wish to the wizard to look for them on the internet. (this will solve the problem of not having a driver cd) Good luck Phil :)

Reply: (edit)WAN = (Wide Area Network) a network that goes beyond the bounderies of your own building or company. LAN = (Local Area Network) more common for the home networking user. just in case you didn't know Phil
