my wan miniport (ip) - packet scheduler miniport is exclamationed and it won't uninstall...it says that it may be part of the boot process and my computer may need it to load

if its exclamationed, i figure i don't need it...and i believe its causing conflicts with my ether net card

i thank anyone with any adice

That wan miniport driver gets loaded as part of the Microsoft TCP/IP stack. I'm not exactly sure what it does, Technet and MSDN do not really mention it.

I think the only way to make that exclamation go away is to remove TCP/IP first, then your NICs (from MY Network Places). Then check Device Manager to make sure they're gone. Power off and remove your NICs. Power up and check Device Manager again. The WAN miniport should be gone. Shut down and put in your NICs again. Power up and re-install.

I'd wait a bit to see if some else has a better suggestion.

..you know what i ended up doing, that solved all my probs...in network connections, i chose my connection...and theres a section that has what the connection uses...including client for microsoft networks, file/printing sharing, internet protocol...and QoS...i removed Qos and all my probs went away...i don't really know what it does...but i'm glad its gone...

Good on you and thanks for the info. I automatically get rid of Qos and therefore never think about it.
