Comment: I've had this problem, well really an annoyance, for a long time now. I had put a wallpaper, the dark side of the moon logo, i found on the internet as my wallpaper and it worked great for a while, then for reasons unknown it changed. as i begin to start my computer i see the DSOTM logo like i should, but then when it's done and the explorer bar and icons are up the entire background becomes the color of the border that i chose in control panel> display> desktop> and the drop down menu for Color. the DSOTM logo reappears like it should when shutting down as well. any help here? thanks i don't need no stinking 8 key

Reply: (edit)"the color of the border that i chose in control panel> display> desktop> and the drop down menu for Color" Here's your problem. When you pick a colour from that drop down menu, it selects a colour for your whole background. Forget that and pick a background, If you wanted a colour for the background of your icon text, you need to go into the "Appearance" Tab then "Advanced" and pick a colour for the Item "Desktop". Reply: (edit)I understand that and it makes sense but i cannot negate the effects of the color choice and i have a background picked, and in the preview of it it looks like it should, yet when applied the color keeps overriding the background i don't need no stinking 8 key

Reply: (edit)Sometimes it still reverts back to the border color, im very confused, sometimes i can put the image back up on the desktop but it takes a lot of tinkering, im sorry about the false assumptions, i guess i counted my chickens before they hatched, any more details as to how to negate the border colors? i don't need no stinking 8 key
