Specs: Windows XP
Hi, i cant change the wall paper on the other
user accounts on my laptop, also i cant drag
and drop into the recycle bin. Its strange
because in my user account i don't have any
problems, I have deleted and created a new
account and the problem is still there.

waderiver, take a look at your wallpaper list (start>settings>control panel>display>appearance>desktop) and be sure it's on the list. Custom pictures have to be added/chosen (kids, grandkids, pets, stuff from the web, etc.)

The Glossary in Windows Help defines
default user
The profile that serves as a basis for all user profiles. Every user profile begins as a copy of the default user profile.

I am thinking that some data in that folder may be corrupted because when you create a new account, that account has the same problem.

Do you have this folder in Windows Explorer ---
C:\Documents and Settings\Default User
If so, then something in there may be corrupted ????

You may want to check for bad sectors on your harddrive, and repair ---

In the meantime, watch for help from others, and I will look around myself. May take awhile for me to get back.

This page has alot of XP fixes
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_...
Read at the top of that page --- How to use REGEDITS.
Then go to line 142 on the right side. Try that.
