Hey Everybody. I was doing some checking in my event viewer today to see if anything weird was hapening. I came across a bunch of these errors that say w32time as the source and when i right click and go to properties, it says "Time Provider NtpClient: An error occurred during DNS lookup of the manually configured peer 'time.windows.com,0x1'. NtpClient will try the DNS lookup again in 15 minutes. The error was: A socket operation was attempted to an unreachable host. (0x80072751)"
I was wondering if anyone could clue me in to what this means. I haven't really had any problems or anything out of the ordinary going on. But I would still like to know what these errors are about. They are under the "system" section of "event viewer"
Thanks so much.

DM, Check out the W32time errors link below my name (Homepage:). The fourth link explains it basically in Message 2 of the thread.
"If W32Time can't find
a time server, then you'll get that error in your logs.WinXP is set up with 2 time servers. Double click the clock in the bottom
right corner (in the tray) to access "Date and Time Properties".
There are 3 tabs, click the third one "Internet Time".
You can untick "Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server"If W32Time is failing, that means your computer can't reach
"time.windows.com" nor "time.nist.gov"HTH
