Hi,

First of all, I apologise if now or in the future I will give insufficient information, or if I will ask for extensive explanations, but I don't know much about computers.

My problem is as follows. I am infected with the W32.HLLW.Studd - Virus. Norton antivirus wasn't able to delete it, so I went to the relevant symantec-site (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.hllw.studd.html) to do a manual removal.

It told me to disable System Restore, update Norton, run a scan and delete all infected files, and edit the system.ini files (only for Win 95/98/ME, so I assume I don't have to do that). I did all those things, but still Norton wasn't able to delete the infected dust.exe file. I even ran Norton in saf mode, but to no avail.

Now, when I start up my computer, it hangs for 2 or 3 minutes when it reaches the desktop. I assume this is because of the infection.

Is there anyone who knows how to get rid of this? And is this hanging during startup the only difficulty I'll encounter as a result of this infection.

I really want to get rid of this, so any help is appreciated!

Cheers, Martin
