Comment:

I have a successful VPN connection from my laptop running XP Home to my work server running Windows Server. However, when I attempt to map a drive to the connection using the unc (\\servername\sharename) it fails with a "network path could not be found".

Net view fails on the name with an error 53 and the name does not show up in My Network Places or My Computer.

TIA for any help you can provide...

Have you check the VPN software manufacturer's web site for tech support? You may find the answer there.

It's xp's internal VPN feature...and I've been combing MS' site for days.

I'll probably have to drop them a line.

Thx.
