Is there a way to control the volume with my keyboard? I want to do this if I am playing a game. I know on a laptop I was able to use something like alt then the up and down arrows.

Also my xp home machine alway lags on the start menu. When I go to start-all programs it lags even more, if I move away to close, it closes frame by frame. I tried changing the registry key but it didn't help.

I use Win XP Home with Norton Anti-virus.

This is a long shot but sometimes people end up putting actual files and programs in the start menu. Is it possible that's the case here? If so, it will slow down the start menu considerably.

The Volume is controlled commonly on the laptop keyboard but not on PCs to my knowledge. The only way I know is to have a programmable keyboard. You can purchse one if it is really important to you.

If anyone else here knows how to do this more cost effectively, say so :)
