Volume slider moves down automatic

Specs: Windows XP
My volume slider moved down automatically even i pulled it up......This problem persists very often, in rare case this issue doesn't happen.....Please assist me in this....

I tried in all the ways by reinstalling driver n checked all the settings.......but all in vain

Consider that when you change the volume level in some 3rd-party (non-M$) programs, that action changes the operating system's volume levels, i.e.: "the slider".

Unfortunate, but fact. This may hold true in your case. Not all 3rd-party programs exhibit that behavior, so one has to identify which ones do.

Hi IMpatient...Thanks for the reply....Sorry for the delay..

I read ur reply....But i dont run any nonMS programs....im using the volume slider bar which is default in XP control panel...

The volume gets reduced automatically....If i move the slide bar up, it automatically comes down.....But it is not continuous happening....I cant identify IS IT AN H/W or S/W issue..

Can u help me in this kind

I had the same thing and it was traced to a sticky volume key on my keyboard. New keyboard - problem fixed!
