Hi...I'm using xp pro, but since the last two days, everytime I restart my computer, the volume settings in the volume control (master and wave volume) go back to some pre-defined volume! Don't know why this is happening. Is there any registry key or something that I can add to save my volume settings when i turn off/restart my computer? Thanks in advance! :)

Do you have a Creative SoundBlaster or Audigy Card? or are you using onboard sound?
Reason being creatives software if loaded at startup does reset the volume depending on how it is setup I had the same problem would always set it to very loud, I ended up uninstalling Creatives Software and using the XP default drivers, works fine now.
If your using onboard sound I would check the BIOS to see if there are any settings for onboard sound volume.
