Volume control??

When I try to load the volume control on to the tray, I get a box telling me to install it using the add/remove box in control panel. I have installed all the items from the XP disk, and still no volume control. Any ideas??

have you turned it on? you goto control panel sound speech and audio adjust the system volume and then click on place volume icon in taskbar.. Cheers.

hi, i have the same problem! i had a volume control icon till the other day and i tried to fix it with the control panel but it has a message that pops up saying it has to be installed....i went to the windows updates page and installed everything that i thought was relevant. please reply ASAP if you know how to fix this by emailing me at xgothicvampyrex@hotmail.com thanks alot!!!
