Specs: Windows XP
I have just reloaded windows xp home which has gone ok except for the volume which has disappeared. I cant find any colume control to adjust. The connections are all ok, I checked them first.
Can anybody help please ?
Incidentally, there is one other issue. The @ symbol is now upper case on number 2 and the " appears where the ' is located.

Did you install the drivers for the soundcard? Look in device manager (run devmgmt.msc) and see if there are any ? or ! If there are you need to obtain drivers for these devices (generally available from manufacturer's websites, but you need to know what the hardware is if course. If its all 'onboard - ie, built into motherboard, you just need the motherboard manufacturer and model - if its a desktop usually printed on the motherboard. if laptop, harder to get to that so something like belarc advisor http://www.belarc.com/free_download... might be useful.

On the keyboard issues, did you choose your keyboard layout during the install process (the default is US, so for example if like me you're in UK you need to change this in control panel, or from the little EN icon on the taskbar - if its there).
