Hi guys, I have a problem with my audio volume control panel - ithe advanced controls do not show when I double click on the small speaker icon in the tray.
The simple up/down slider works fine but I can't make my PC show the full, advanced panel!
It looks like the advanced controls panel opens because I see its task appearing in the taskbar button down on the bottom but the controls are not visible.I tried to fix the problem and re-installed my sound card's drivers (SoundMax) one million times, I cleaned my WindowsXP registry... I tried almost anything i could think of. Still, the thing will not show... :(
Help, please.

Did you right click on the icon and try to open Open Volume Control? Also go to Control Panel and open Sounds and Audio Devices. There are several way to open volume panels in there.

I don't have SoundMax, but when I Right click on the speaker icon, choose Op[en Volume Controls, then Options at upper left in the main mixer, I can choose Advanced Controls (it toggles - on when a checkmark there), or choose Properties and select more control categories to display in the main mixer.
You must have the correct SoundMax drivers loaded - there are many different versions.

Guys, I have tried all the possible ways to show the advanced controls panel:
Throught the Start menu >> Accessories >> Entertainment
Through the Control panel >> Sound & Audio devices
By doubleclicking on the taskbar icon... you name it!
Nothing worked.
I tried everything and the thing won't show.@salgolf, when I right click on the taskbar icon, no menu appears. :(
I am really puzzled by this problem.
Your help is highly needed and appreciated.

We get frequent reports on this web site of SoundMax not working correctly in one way or another. SoundMax is usually built into the mboard.
Most people who have problems with SoundMax are having those problems because they have the wrong SoundMax drivers loaded.
The ones that work are the ones in the downloads for your mboard model, or the ones on the CD that came with the mboard, or if SoundMax is on a PCI card, the ones rhat are on the CD that came with the card, or the ones on the manufacturer's web site for your particular maker and model or card.If you have the wrong drivers loaded you must Un-install them in Control Panel - Add and Remove Software before installing the proper drivers
See the SoundMax FAQ link above if you have any other questions.
