Can I buy VLC Player on CD or DVD?
Having problems with VLC finding the server.
Get Msg

"The installer was unable to find the server.
Please try again later.

You shouldn't have to buy it - better to solve the problem if possible. Is this where you got it from in the first place (the official webpage)?

It is a free program. Did you download the file and Save it (best) or try installing it online using Run? If need be you could download it on another PC, Save the file, then transfer the download using a flash drive or CD.

I finally got VLC on the old compuer.
Used Firefox instead of Explorer,

Not sure why IE was so fussy, anyhow you are safer using Firefox on XP.
Glad to hear you sorted it.

The problem is most likely because XP only supports up to IE8 & IE8 outdated, unsecure, & many sites have dropped support. Stick to Firefox or Chrome, or better yet, use SRWare Iron.
