Vista Problem of Disk checking

Lenovo / Y510

Specs: Windows Vista Home Basic, 1 GB
I am having many problems suddenly in my
system.

Firstly Bluescreen error was coming in each 5
minutes. Then I decided to restore my system.
But system restore was not done successfully
due to disk failure. I am unable to know why
and how this happened. Please let me know
what I should do this this situation.

Even I tried to do disk checking on the C drive
where my Vista Home Basic OS is installed. I
followed all the rules for disk checking, but the
prompt for scheduling the disk checking is not
coming. This is same for D drive too. Even if I
want to go for disk defragmention, while
clicking on Defragment Now option I get a
message saying "Your file system
performance can be improved." with an
exclamation sign in yellow colored triangular
box.

Vista quesiton in the XP forum. Now that is a major mouse misclick :-)

Sounds like you are virus or malware infected. Google the free utilities, download them and run them after updating them. Very important you are also up on the latest MS patch or there is a hole in your system that can be taken advantage of.

Visit the virus/security forum and review posts there for more links/how to's
