I am having trouble installing my visioneer one touch 5300 scanner it is telling me that the system is not compatable and i dont know what to do

Maybe try the compatability wizard and use it in Win 98 mode?

Afternoon Kevin, The one thing to check is what version of Paperport you are trying to use with your scanner? If you are trying to use Paperport 6.1, it will not work on XP. I ran into a similiar problem with my Visioneer 6100 USB. Visioneer had posted how to install the scanner on XP using 6.1 at one time on their website and then pulled it off! I used the special instructions to install ( before they pulled them) using 6.1 and then had to go to version 8 to use the scanner.They force you to upgrade to Paperport 8. just my 2 cents, XDon

I had the exact same scanner and the same problem. It does not work with XP and there are no updated drivers available. I wanted to upgrade my Paperport, but found that purchasing a new scanner was less expensive than purchasing a new version of Paperport.
