Hi, my Visioneer One Touch 5300 Usb scanner doesn't install on my new pc with Windows XP OS, mistaking it for Windows NT. I've checked visioneer's support site and it seems that so far the 5300 isn't compatible with WinXP. Is there anyway I can get it to work? Thanks, my only other option is to take out the hard drive from my old pc and place it in my new one.

I followed the instructions but when i plug my scanner in, Windows hardware detection takes over and limits me to installing the old driver that Im not going to do because im not sure of its effects. So the scanner remains inaccessible. When i try connecting the connection fails... and hardware detection pops up every time i plug the scanner in, it seems that the new driver didn't successfly install/register with the scanner. Should I disable windows hardware detection? Thanks

Actually, i went ahead and installed the drivers that it told me to, and the scanner is now working. Thanks for your help.
