Comment:

After reinstalling Windows XP Home (I like to do this every 6 months or so) One of the programs reinstalled of course was McAfee VirusScan Professional Edition 7.03.6000. Having reregistered with my E-Mail address for updates, all downloaded OK and now all definitions up to date again. I now notice that my license gives me another year of definition updates. Is this the case or are these company's aware of when the product was first registered. I first registered about 11 months ago. Is this a good way of avoiding paying for another years definitions, or will they charge

Thanks for replies
PhilC

If you did a complete clean install you removed the registry entry for the expiration date. When you reinstalled it created a new date.
