virus wont delete

there is a virus in my computer and my symantec antivurus cannot delete how to i gt rid of it i try online scans but they do not remove it or they say it has been remove but it is still there any ideas of how to remove it

tonny, What's the name of the virus and what location on your hard drive is your Norton showing that the virus/virus infected files are located?

the virus name is or the message that apperas is w32.linkbot c:windows/system32\bwgkrkl.exe i also did a trojan scan and it says it remove it but its still there im not sure were is located temporary files i belive

That's the problem with system restore... unless you disable it prior to eradicating a virus... the pest re-appears... Once pest ha gone re-enable system restore.
Also if a pest is quarantined... some a/v utils will still report it as present on the system - when you run a subsequent scan; generally wise to dump quarantined pests asap?
Summary: I have been successful in the past with deleting adware, spyware, and viruses even. I have Ad-aware, Spybot, Stinger, Norton works, all that stuff. Everytime I run a norton scan, it comes up 3 thing...
