Today I found out I had a virus Via Housecall. Hoping by deleting all the files that were infected I could get rid of this virus. So i deleted all these files. 95 of them. Now nothing works on my computer, Restore doesnt work. It says (Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\***.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly....)*** is anything to Explorer, IEXPLORE, helpctr to Rundll.exe... Any Idea how i can get this working again?

Use your XP CD to repair the damage. If you do not have an antivirus program get Grisoft's AVG, it is free.

What happened was the virus messed with your exe associations so windows can't find em. The tool fixes that.
Good luck

I accidently messed up the folder options in control panel (file types) deleted some changed some, please tell me how to get them back to their original standard form. Also before i wemt to regedit and search for command.exe and delete it and now i cant open most programs also tell me how to get it back. i tried sysytem restore but because i deleted command.exe it says it doesnt have the program association to open and to create one in folder options in control panel. PLEASE HELP .by the way i deleted command.exe because i had some virus and i found somewhere that it was copied to command.exe. because command.exe kept open and closing all the time in task manager .

I've downloaded the EXE File Association Fix (Restore default association for EXE files) but i can't use it because when i try to open it Winzip will try to add it to archive, instead of adding it ot the registry.

Is there any other way to use the file?
