I would simply delete it if it was my computer. O.o.... but!

Try seeing if trandmicro will heal it out your system.. or any other online housecall scans that are available.

(Trend Micro)

If not... delete it and see what happens... whats the worse that can happen? Reformat? =/

#Hope this helps and such.

as being one of the first to use avg over norton .which norton sucks and avg is the best bar none....for years now...here some little tips for u avg users that avg says cant delete and recommends to move to virus vault....first after running test and finding a virus/worm/trojammer that avg recommends moveing to virus vault...do so...thats step one...after they all in virus vault restart computer..go back to avg and virus vault and click on delete...boom they are gone....Step 2..if still cant be deleted will then thats where dos comes in...meaning the virus/worm/trojammer is useings a part of windows to run..heres what u do............go to avg click program..test results..then details..print out the path of the infections....restart windows xp/2000/98 in ms dos mode or pressing f8 to go to command prompt..use cd the change directory...like cd c:\windows\system32 for example where every the path is...when u at that path lets say virus is in the c:\windows\system32\killme.rar is its name u would do this at command prompt....cd c:\windows\system32
it would change to this c:\windows\system32
now type del (whatever name is)...example is
del killme.rar.........boom its deleted now.congrats....type dir to make sure its gone. enjoy. any questions just ask as i love useing avg and promote their good-heart success and free virus protection.

Looks to be a very simple problem, try turning off System Restore then Reboot!
This will clear all Restore Points and should take care of the problem. When finished, remember to enable System Restore again.

Start>Control Panel>System>System Restore (tab)>Put a checkmark in the Turn Off System Restore box.>Restart your computer.

Hi Chris...
Ok I have this exact same problem...the whole system volume thing, b.c of a trojan horse...first I thought I had to run AVG in MS-DOS mode...I did so and no viruses were found...I hope running it did not mess up anything with my computer? Then I further researched this problem and the AVG website says to do the exact same thing u recommended...so I will turn off system restore, restart my comp and then turn it back on and that should take care of ridding my computer of this virus? I don't need to run a complete check of my system again? I am also having the problem of trojan horse viruses turning up in my Documents and setting folder. I run a complete test and AVG seems to catch them and put them in the vault. But anytime I restart my computer another trojan shows up in my documents and setting again. Also would you recommend deleting the viruses from my virus vault? Obviously something keeps re-infecting my files. I am sorry keep rambling on and on, I hope this all makes sense. You sound knowledgeable on the topic and I am very unsure of how to solve this problem. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks! =)
