I have just wiped of ALL of my Noton 2008 internet security as I am awaiting a new XP disk being sent to me from Microsoft so I can HOPEFULLY repair my computor.Microsoft say a repair will not work with Norton running. My XP disk I have will not let me load up the i files of the disk and Microsoft says it is a fault with the disk. I beg to differ as I have only experienced this recently and never when I first installed it....long story.....however they tell me to install AVG.....for the time being....I was a few days installing AVG and in the mean time think I have got a virus. Even just on my desk top with no explorer page open pages just appear. Some of them are adult pages. Now the worrying thidg is I had a message in the centre of my screen saying that my computor has remembered and logged all the 'porn' sights I have visited and by loading up this software it will clen up my comp. I have two kids that use this comp and this sort of message is not welcome. needless to say I have NEVER been to ANY of these so called sights. How can I set my comp to never remember the sights we go to and not keep ANY history whatsoever.

I believe the message was just a scare to get you to click on something that will do more harm. However, there aren't too many things you can do to prevent your internet activity from being logged. There are cookies, temporary internet files, and more which track your internet history.

Your best bet would be to get that virus out of your system ASAP.

crappy OEM comptuers...

Also, I don't know how old your kids are but don't be so naive to think your kids are not capable of visiting those sites.

spoonman184 may be correct, but the computer may have actually visited porn sites.

CCleaner will purge all your temp files, cookies, recycle bin and more, if you allow it to. Download and use CCleaner regularly.

You should use ALT + F4 to close any dialogue boxes that popup.
NEVER click anything in the box to close it, that may cause Malware to get into the computer.

Just download and use CCleaner. I don't know where Reg cure comes in to play.
