Virus infection, can log into Windows XP

May 26, 2011 at 17:11:23
Specs: Windows XP, /2GB
A virus infected my computer. It got slow and wouldn let me open most programs, and made the internet connection intermittent.

Trying to fix it, while running antiviruses and such, userinit.exe got deleted, probably by me.

Also, the virus deleted my keyboard driver, so I can't type anything.

Now I can't log into any account because it automatically logs out immediately.

Don't have CD drive either (previous condition). Help :(

Borrow a cd maybe to try repair.

Try safe mode too.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

I already tried Safe Mode but same thing happens: immediately logged off.

I'll try and borrow a CD tomorrow but I think my CD Drive isn't working...

Thanks for the quick response!

delestat, maybe? Possible you might be able to use a friend's machine to download a cleaner and put it on a CD (autorun on CD)? Look at a virus forum for step by step instructions? I'd run one capable of dealing with a worm/trojan too, just in case.
