Virus... I guess?

CPU/Ram: p4 1000/256

If I am on the internet for more then 8 min this litle screen pops up saying that something has created an illegal operation in C:/windows/system32/lsass.dll or something like this, and it says I have 60 seconds till the comp shuts down. and it sits there with this box and counts down. can anyone help me. this only happens when i get online. also i've scaned with norton and it says it's found bloodhound.w32.ep. it deleted 2 of the files but couldn't get the last one. i duno why. plz help.

Go to www.symantec.com and then click on Threats on the left of the screen. Scroll down until you find Bloodhound (there's a couple) and then follow those directions.

well putting the cd in and boot from it and scaning doesn't work because it doesn't find anything. i have norton 2004. and it is sucking

The sasser virus u have. old now. u havent kept ur xp updated. go here:

make sure u have AV prog and all updates,and firewall is on!!
also click left side of this page 'Sy and virus'. search site 'sasser worm'. plenty of help on here if u look.

my sister has the exact same problem with her pc which is running winxp the technical help from her pc insurance said a master reboot which includes formatting the hard drive would solve this problem which we did and it has still not removed the bloodhound virus which she still got even though she has norton.We are looking for a soloution we can not quarintine and send it to norton as norton will not work and virus is stopping us getting on the internet.I think this virus is a very damaging one and norton says it does not affect xp which is totally untrue.
